planning of the visit

A staff member from "Sounds for the Soul" will contact you by phone, explain the project in detail and check with you when a private visit from a musician to your house can be planned.

03

confirmation of the date and hour

You will receive confirmation by phone and by email of the day and time when the the musician will visit you.

If you have any questions about the visit, it’s the moment to ask them.

04

the musical encounter

The musician will visit you at your house or place of residence. This visit lasts approximately 30 minutes. Make sure that you have a (quiet) room where you can sit quietly and comfortable with you two. It’s a one-on-one experience.

The musician will ask you to briefly tell him/her what is going on and what you are feeling at the moment. Then he/she will play one musical piece in answer to your story. Before he or she says goodbye, the musician will share with you some music you can listen to for the weeks and months to come.

The visits are organised in accordance with the current COVID rules: respect of distance, mouth mask,...

good to know!

good to know!

  • There is no pre-selection. Everyone who applies will be contacted.

  • For now only people living in Brussels can apply.

  • Private stories will be treated with discretion and not made public.

  • The musician at home is a surprise. You cannot choose a particular instrument or a particular musician. However, we do take into account the language.

  • The musicians are trained in advance for this project.

  • The project is no replacement for a therapeutic session and doesn’t pretend to be it. (aims no particular outcome) The intention is  to propose an intimate moment of hope and comfort, and to give you the chance to look at your situation from a different angle.

  • Participation is free but places are limited so don’t wait too long to reach out

  • Please feel free to leave us some feedback after the visit by mail or messenger.

A musical way of saying that we care
